American Woman, Save the Queen, Walk This Way Review & Swatches

PR SAMPLE

I love a good matte lipstick, and I’ve been really into NARS recently (did you read my review on their gorgeous new highlighting/bronzing palette?) When I was poking around in Sephora the other day, I stumbled upon a new launch from Nars, their Powermatte Lip Pigments. This is one of those launches where you go and look at the display, and every color speaks to you! There are nude, pink, red, and berry shades and Sephora’s website breaks it down for you based on your skin tone what is going to look the best on you. How cool!

I was immediately attracted to the nude shade (for medium skintones) American Woman, the pink shade (for light skintones) Walk This Way, and the berry shade (for light skintones), Save The Queen. Nudes can be funny on me sometimes, which is why I think I was drawn to a shade darker. The reds are also stunning but I don’t find myself reaching for reds lately so I skipped that one!

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment Review- American Woman, Save the Queen, Walk This WayWhat’s neat about these Powermatte Lip Pigments is that there are matching shades in the Precision Lip Liners. I have shown here:

Save the Queen/Cap-D’Ail; Walk This Way/Gordes; American Woman/Lerins

It’s a very lovely nude shade with a hint of pink and warmth that I really need with my light skintone if I’m going to be able to pull the shade off at all. Nudes are so tricky but this one is so good!

I’m completely obsessed with these liquid lipsticks and they’re some of my favorites I’ve tried. All three shades I have are ones I’d wear daily no matter what the rest of my makeup looked like. I’ve been wearing them with or without the liner. They do wear slightly longer with the liners, but I’m not finding them totally necessary.

Why are these rocking my world? I love the size and shape of the doe-foot applicator because it allows for awesome precision, and the formula is full coverage in one swipe. The texture is amazing though- it’s extremely lightweight and doesn’t become crumbly or drying once it’s dry. It’s very much like ink once it’s on. Once it’s on and dry, it’s there, locked in place, and is completely smudge-resistant. It’s definitely my favorite formula that I’ve tried so far!
