‘American Horror Stories’: All the Cast Members Returning for the FX ‘AHS’ Spin-Off
American Horror Stories comes to FX on Hulu on Thursday, July 15. The show is a spin-off to FX’s American Horror Story, but while each season of that show tells a new story, each episode of the new show is an entirely new tale of terror.
Though American Horror Stories is a new show from franchise creator Ryan Murphy, the cast of the show will include a number of people who have previously appeared across the nine seasons of AHS proper. Here’s who will return to tell the new chapters of the franchise’s story.

Who did he play in AHS: After making his show debut in an episode of Freak Show, he had a main role in Hotel as the villainous Donovan.
Who he plays in American Horror Stories: The actor will play Michael in “Rubber (Wo)man,” the first of the standalone stories in the Hulu show. Michael is one of two dads who move into what the synopsis calls “a forsaken home with a grim past”—a home that some think might be Season 1’s Murder House based on the title of the episode.

Who did she play in AHS: Lourd has so far appeared in three seasons of AHS: Cult (where she played Winter Anderson and in one episode, real-life Manson Family member Linda Kasabian), Apocalypse (in which she played Mallory) and 1984 (when she played Montana Duke). She will also star in AHS Season 10.
Who she plays in American Horror Stories: Liv Whitely, who will appear in Episode 5, “Ba’al.” That episode focuses on “a wife [who] does the unthinkable for a chance at a successful pregnancy.”

Who did he play in AHS: Lynch has played three characters across four seasons. He played Twisty the Clown in Freak Show and Cult, fellow “Killer Clown” John Wayne Gacy in Hotel and killer Mr. Jingles in 1984.
Who he plays in American Horror Stories: Larry Bitterman, a character who appears in the third episode “Drive In,” where “a screening of a forbidden film has disastrous consequences.”

Who did she play in AHS: Emmy-nominee Grossman is best known for her role of Pepper across Asylum and Freak Show, and starred in two episodes of Apocalypse as Samantha Crowe.
Who she plays in American Horror Stories: The excellently-named Rabid Ruth, who also appears in “Drive In.”

Is Sarah Paulson in ‘American Horror Stories’?
The actor will not be in the new Hulu show—possibly because she is too busy with other Murphy shows like American Horror Story Season 10 and American Crime Story: Impeachment, in which she will play Linda Tripp.
However, she is involved with American Horror Stories. The Emmy-winning actor has directed an episode of the show, her second directing credit after a 2018 episode of AHS: Apocalypse.
American Horror Stories airs Thursdays on Hulu.
