American Dad Premiere Clip Sees Roger Hiding Out In Roswell [EXCLUSIVE]

Screen Rant is thrilled to present an exclusive clip from the season 18 premiere of American Dad!, which airs tonight on TBS. The beloved animated series has had a long run so far, first debuting on FOX in 2005 before heading over to TBS in 2014. There have since been changes in the episode numbering, which makes the upcoming season 18 rather than season 20, as some fans might expect. Nevertheless, the show retains the wacky brand of humor that has made it a staple of modern television.

Created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman, American Dad! follows all-American patriot Stan Smith (voiced by McFarlane) as he brings his CIA work home with him and attempts to make his family fall in line. Driven by machismo and the American dream, he is often blind to how horribly he fails at his attempts. Completing his family are housewife Francine (Wendy Schaal), hippie daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane), dorky son Steve (Scott Grimes), Hayley’s husband Jeff (Jeff Fischer), their East German goldfish Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), and the resident alien Roger (also voiced by Seth McFarlane).

What To Expect From American Dad Season 18

In Screen Rant’s exclusive clip from the American Dad! season 18 premiere, Roger is seen quickly adjusting in a darkened bathroom. Using his iconic penchant for disguises, he dons the appearance of “Grandma Mackadoo,” who is waiting with her family outside. But though his work is so shoddy that even he is embarrassed by it, the butler is taken in enough to fully believe Grandma Mackadoo’s twin sister stands before him. In fact, even the family themselves welcome Roger in with open arms, not questioning the purpose of the disguise at all.

American Dad! often places Roger in alternate worlds or impossible scenarios, and “Fellow Traveler” seems to be no exception. The trailer for the season already showed everyone’s favorite pansexual alien being attacked by a Lovecraftian monster during his space travels, which no doubt is what leaves him at the mercy of the friendly Roswell residents in the above clip. Given that each season of American Dad! seems to overtake the last in zaniness, the premiere is sure to set the tone for even more wild adventures for Roger and the Smith family.

American Dad! season 18 premieres March 27 at 10pm ET/PT on TBS.
