2005 BMW 3 Series – Fun, loud

The car drives really well compared to an older Toyota Camry. Heavy base makes turning a breeze and strong V6 engine gives a lot more power than what I am used to. The only problem is that my car was bought used and salvage, so there are problems that are unique to it, but should not be present in models that did not sustain any damage.

2005 BMW 3 Series – Economical and stylish

This car is a great daily driver. The thing that probably stands out most is the handling and pep that the car has. I can easily get in and out of traffic as the car has great handling and suspension. The power is not exceptionally noteworthy but is very comfortable with passing slow drivers in a hurry. I also like the fact that the car has four doors. If I want to take a few passengers with me, it is very nice that you can comfortably fit four people (five in a pinch) in the vehicle. The trunk has quite a bit of room as well for being a smaller-sized four-door sedan. With the four doors and trunk size, you can easily do a substantial amount of shopping and have enough space to bring you treasures home. Parts, however, can be a bit difficult to come buy, as it is not a domestic vehicle… (more)

Parts, however, can be a bit difficult to come buy, as it is not a domestic vehicle. I’ve also found that parts can be a bit pricey as compared to domestic vehicles. It would also be nice if the car had a bit more power. It is peppy, but I find myself wanting to have a bit more power. The car seems to drive quite comfortably in any weather. One more drawback is it sits quite low, so it can be difficult to get in and out of for elderly.

Story

I drove from Wyoming to Ohio in two days and hardly noticed I had driven for over 28 hours (with a small break in between). Driving through Minneapolis was an absolute joy. I had the windows down, Prince playing Raspberry Beret full-blast, and darted through traffic like a pro! Once I reached my destination, I wasn’t even wore out from the drive.

Pros

Responsive handling. Tight suspension. Four doors for passengers. Nice-sized trunk. Good on gas. Fun to drive. Easily navigate traffic. Great visibility. Headlight squinters. Sleek design. Beautiful leather interior. Nice sound system. Roomy front seats. Comfortable seats. Good interior lighting.

Cons

Could have more power. Rear seats are a bit small. Parts can be difficult to find easily. Parts tend to be more expensive. Difficult to work on. No Bluetooth for phones. Low car so can be difficult to get in and out of. Can feel bumps in the road due to suspension. May be considered a “girl car,” which may not suit those who need to project manliness. Not suited for off-road driving. Maximum of five passengers. Cupholder has poor design. No cupholders for rear passengers. Steering wheel obstructs part of the dashboard display. Radio is not intuitive to use.
