2018 BMW 5-Series 520i M Sport 2.0 — M44FJR
The M Sport interior offers you a set of plush sofa-like leather seats with the heating option, ambient lighting with a range of colours, Harman Kardon sound system, the latest iDrive infotainment system complemented by the free-standing touchscreen and rotary controller – gesture control is an optional extra which allows you to clear notifications or change the volume or scroll songs, or if you’re really bored, study your fingers on the surround cameras. Did I mention soft closing doors? That’s not all though, if you’re willing to splash a bit more cash you can add a huge number of extra options such as a sunroof, which I prefer as a must for any luxury car.
In terms of storage, you’ll find the usual centre cubbies, door pockets, passenger side glove box, all average-sized, and a 530 litres capacity boot at the back – just falling short of it’s rival the E-Class by just 10-litres but that’s not the end of the world. As mentioned earlier. the leather seats are very comfy but the seating position feels quite low and sporty. That being said, there is still a spacious amount of head-room and leg-room for 5 passengers.
Although the inside of the 5er might not defeat the inside of the E-Class, sitting in the driver’s seat you’ll enjoy the traditional driver-oriented centre console paired with a poised steering wheel which actually feels easy to control during normal cruises on a local road or even at fast speeds on a dual carriageway.
