2016 BMW R 1200 R | Motorcycle Buyer’s Guide

It was an all-new BMW R 1200 R last year, which featured the liquid-/oil-cooled boxer motor previously used in the GS and RT models. The R 1200 R has a new chassis, that includes traditional inverted forks and a EVO Paralever rear suspension system.

The power is the same as the GS models, with an all-street chassis. The R 1200 R offers traction control and electronic suspension as an option. Other forays into the BMW catalog can turn the R into a light-duty sport tourer.
