1967 BMW R50/2

1967 BMW R50/2

“This BMW bike features the famous BMW flat-twin ‘boxer’ engine and shaft-drive – features to be found on its bikes today. At the time, a BMW motorcycle was considered the ‘thinking man’s bike’, providing reliable, low-maintenance transport for the connoisseur, or a tough workhorse for sidecar duty.”

This 1967 BMW R50/2 was fully restored in 2018 for its current owner by well-known BMW motorcycle restorer Tim Stafford.

This BMW motorcycle is refinished in its rare original color of China Blue with all matching identification numbers. With only 548 miles driven since restoration the 494cc fully rebuilt engine starts easily and comes to a smooth idle. The 4-speed transmission shifts well with a BMW R69 final drive added for a better cruise. Using the revolutionary front dual cartridge shocks and rear swing arm suspension this motorcycle cruises comfortably coming to a quick stop using the drum brakes.

This 1967 BMW R50/2 is in excellent condition and will go well with any classic motorcycle owner’s collection.
