American Pie is the hilarious OG comedy series, with the first film airing in 1999. This film falls in the coming-of-age, teen comedy genre and surrounds four friends, Jim, Oz, Finch, and Kevin, trying every trick in the book to lose their virginity before prom night.

10 Best Movies like American Pie
Superbad (2007)
Starting this list with an iconic comedy film, which I’ll be surprised if no one has watched or heard of. This coming-of-age story sees two best friends who want to enjoy their final high school year to the fullest before they separate and go to different colleges. Trying to get laid, get girlfriends, and try new things, see these best friends getting into trouble on one dramatic, intense night, pushing their friendship to the limits. Superbad is a hilarious must-watch, directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and starring Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Scary Movie (2000)
Scary Movie is an American horror comedy series comprising five parody films mainly focusing on spoofing horror films. These films have collectively grossed almost $900 million worldwide at the box office and see some great actors of our time coming together to take the mick and make us all laugh.
Roadtrip (2000)
This teen comedy centers around college experiences and classic stereotypes. Similarly to American Pie and Superbad, many male friends go on a trip and get into trouble. Their funny antics have the audience in stitches as they race to the post office and steal a sex tape sent to a cheating freshman girlfriend. The film is directed by Todd Phillips, who then gave us The Hangover, a more adult adventure for grown men. Similar to this, it’s also worth a watch.
The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)
This film has me laughing each time I’ve seen it, and I love how it’s not about a dorky, idiot teen trying to lose his virginity but a 40-year-old who’s not had sex yet. Once his co-workers discover this, and it becomes their mission to get him laid. However, our leading man starts to date and falls in love with a nice woman, so his life becomes even more complicated. Steve Carell performs excellently alongside many other fab actors you’ll recognize.
Easy A (2016)
Starring the lovely and funny Emma Stone as Olive, this film flips the norm a little as we see a female lead lie to her best friend about losing her virginity to one of the college boys to look more relaxed and be accepted in high school. Unfortunately, a girl overhears their conversation, and her story spreads across the entire school like wildfire. It does what comedy does best, pokes fun at a genuine and serious topic, and sheds light on the things teens will be going through.
Sex Drive (2008)
We’re back at it again with a road trip, where we see eighteen-year-old Ian set out on a cross-country drive with his best friends to lose his virginity to a girl he met on the Internet. It sounds pretty modern for 2008 — probably something many people do now. It’s a great teen rom-com with a fun twist and will have you laughing.
Wet Hot American Summer (2001)
One thing about this film is that some say it’s so good that it took more than ten years for them to attempt a sequel. This film takes place in a summer camp where even the counselors need adult supervision. Starring comedy kings and queens such as Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks, you know you’re in for a fun ride.
The Inbetweeners Movie (2011)
This film has to be the British version of American Pie, The Inbetweeners Movie, known simply as The Inbetweeners in North America, is a 2011 British coming-of-age teen adventure comedy film based on the E4 sitcom with the same name. It’s rude, ridiculous, and really funny. If you’re on the lookout for a group of four guys on an adventure to get laid, making fools of themselves, and getting into stupid situations, then this film is it. Also, check out the series. It’s hilarious.
Project X (2012)
Thomas, Costa, and JB are three loser high school seniors who are determined to leave high school being remembered — making their mark and going down as legends. How do they do this? With an epic party, of course! When word spreads, this party turns into an unbelievable night they won’t forget.
There’s Something About Mary (1998)
Ending this list with a personal favorite of mine. Chasing a girl, whether she’s the love of your life or not, you’re chasing to get laid. Ted, a geek, hires a private investigator to track down his high-school sweetheart, Mary. Mary is so wonderfully perfect he realizes he has much more competition than he thinks to win her heart, including the private investigator. This rom-com has excellent performances from Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz and is the fun-feel-good film you need to see.
