Nippon Express (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. is building a bonded warehouse within the Minh Quang Industrial Zone on the outskirts of Hanoi. Construction of the facility is scheduled for completion in December of this year. The Minh Quang Industrial Park is located along National Route 5, connecting Hanoi with the port of Haiphong, the gateway to northern Vietnam. It is 90 minutes from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport. According to Nippon Express, Vietnam is attracting a growing amount of interest among global manufacturers and distributors seeking an overseas base and access to high-quality labor, following the country’s accession to the World Trade Organization. Some 250 Japanese companies, including electrical and precision equipment manufacturers, have already set up operations in Hanoi and the surrounding area. The new industrial park is also expected to serve as a base for trade between China and Vietnam, the company said. Established in July of 2000, Nippon Express (Vietnam) is engaged primarily in air- and ocean-cargo forwarding, and overseas removals.
