Ethanol extract of Pouzolzia zeylanica at the oral dose of 10 g material powder/kg had increased body weight at the 1st and 2nd week of treatment and 14th day after the cessation of treatment. Food consumption of both group using test extracts had been increased from the 5th day to 17th day in comparison with control groups. After one month, ethanol extracts of Pouzolzia zeylanica and Tinospora crispa had decreased platelet count insignificantly in comparison with control groups without any effects on other hematic parameters.

Conclusion:

Ethanol extract of Pouzolzia zeylanica at oral dose of 10 g material powder/kg increased body weight and food consumption. Ethanol extract of Tinospora crispa increased food consumption only.
